If you are concerned about a double chin, sagging skin around the face, or deep creases forming around the eyes, talk to Dr. Foley about facelift surgery or rhytidectomy. This procedure can eliminate many of the signs of aging around the face and neck. This is a fairly aggressive procedure but can be especially effective for restoring youthful contours and taking years off the appearance.
Dr. Foley is a board certified plastic surgeon and performs both restorative and cosmetic facelift procedures at his practice. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia and may be combined with other procedures for enhanced results.
Reasons to Undergo a Facelift
Many of our patients turn to Dr. Foley for a facelift for the following reasons:
- Correct sagging in the mid-face area
- Eliminate deep creases around the lower lids
- Smooth out creases along the nose and corners of the mouth
- Eliminate loose jowls
- Eliminate excess skin and fatty deposits under the chin and around the jawline
Complementary Facelift Procedures
It’s important to understand that facelift surgery only addresses certain facial compartments and loose skin. It may be performed in conjunction with other facial plastic surgery procedures fi patients have drooping eyelids or lose skin elasticity around the brows. Complementary procedures include a brown lift to correct deep furrows of the brows and eyelid surgery to rejuvenate the area around the eyes. Other options that can enhance results of a facelift include:
- Facial Implants
- Fat Transfer
- Soft Tissue Augmentation
- Skin Resurfacing
- Wrinkle Reduction with Fillers
Dr. Foley performs all of these procedures at his practice and can customize a treatment plan that will help you achieve your ideal look.
The Facelift Procedure
The standard facelift is performed under general anesthesia or intravenous sedation, depending on the type of procedure. The traditional facelift involve smoking an incision in the hairline at the temples which wraps around the year and ends at the lower scalp. Dr. Fowler can access several facial compartments from here and redistribute tissues around the face, jowls, and neck. Excess skin can be cut away, lifted, and re-draped to create new facial contours. We will close incisions with sutures or skin adhesives. After the initial swelling and bruising have subsided, you can look forward to a significant difference and a more youthful appearance.
