Upper blepharoplasty.

Procedure Details

This is a 69 year old female who has had difficulty seeing. She notes drooping eyelids and excess skin. She was seen by her ophthalmologist who performed visual field testing. The testing reveals an upper visual field deficit, better with elevation of the eyelids. Eyelid surgery or a blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure to improve the appearance of the upper lids, lower lids or both. It can also be used to help with your vision if the upper eyelid is droopy. Sagging extra skin of the upper eyelid can disturb the contour of the upper eyelid, sometimes impairing vision. Fat deposits can cause the upper eyelid to appear puffy. Bags and wrinkles on the lower eyelid can be treated with a lower eyelid blepharoplasty.
