Significant weight loss can result in excess skin, after bariatric surgery. Excess skin in the abdominal and leg regions is often most completely corrected with a circumferential body lift procedure (lower body lift). Abdominoplasty alone can't correct the posterior and lateral thigh vertical skin excess which the circumferential body lift procedure addresses. Thighplasty will still be needed, however the thigh deformity will not be as dramatic after the circumferential body lift.
