Lower Body Lift

This patient was bothered by her abdomen, flanks and thighs with skin laxity. She had lost 50lbs over the last several years and now has excess skin causing deformity in these regions. In order to remove the excess skin in these areas, a lower body lift was performed on this patient. Significant weight loss can result in excess skin, after bariatric surgery. Excess skin in the abdominal and leg regions is often most completely corrected with a circumferential body lift procedure (lower body lift). Abdominoplasty alone can't correct the posterior and lateral thigh vertical skin excess which the circumferential body lift procedure addresses. Thighplasty will still be needed, however the thigh deformity will not be as dramatic after the circumferential body lift. Often these procedures allow the patient to start an exercise program, which allows for further weight loss.
