Significant weight loss can result in excess skin, after bariatric surgery. Excess skin in the upper back, lateral chest and under the breast regions is often most completely corrected with a upper circumferential body lift procedure (upper body lift). Mastopexy (breast lift) might be done at the same time or not. Frequently liposuction is needed for focal fat deposits in conjunction with the excision part of the procedure.
This is a 28-year-old from the greater Harrisburg area who had bariatric surgery and lost a significant amount of weight. She had several other skin reduction procedures by other plastic surgeons (specifically a mastopexy). She came to our practice for correction of the excess skin on the upper back, lateral back and below the breast regions.
