Breast Lift - Mastopexies

A breast lift, also known as mastopexy, raises the breasts by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to reshape and support the new breast contour. Sometimes the areola becomes enlarged over time, and a breast lift will reduce this as well. A breast lift can rejuvenate your figure with a breast profile that is more youthful and uplifted. A woman’s breasts often change over time, losing their youthful shape and firmness. A breast lift won't change the size of your breasts or round out the upper part of your breast. There are many different breast lift techniques. This medial pedicle breast lift technique: lifts the nipple to a more normal position, creates a more youthful shape to the breast emphasizing cleavage and upper pole fullness while minimizing the scarring (no scars in the décolletage). This is a 44-year-old Harrisburg area female patient with BRCA1 and a family history of cancer. She presents with bilateral grade 3 ptosis and macromastia. She desires bilateral nipple sparing mastectomies in the near future to reduce her risk of developing breast cancer. She underwent a breast reduction mastopexy as a staged procedure to allow her to keep her nipples and maintain an anatomic breast. There would be a future plan for bilateral nipple sparing mastectomies with reconstruction as a second stage.
