Breast Reconstruction Revision

This Harrisburg area patient is a 66 year old female who developed right breast cancer. She underwent bilateral skin sparring mastectomies with immediate breast reconstruction with tissue expanders placed under the pectoralis muscle. No radiation. No chemotherapy. 2 weeks after the surgery, her tissue expanders were very low on the chest wall (almost in her abdominal wall). She changed her plastic surgeon where she underwent a surgery with Alloderm to hold the TEs below the pectoralis muscle, which failed. Then she underwent an Alloderm wrapped implant surgery to hold the implants in place. She was not happy with her result. She changed plastic surgeons again. She presented to our office with a tight band feeling and a pulling feeling with breast asymmetry and deformities. She has 240cc silicone implants. She underwent one revisional surgery of: exchange of implants to Mentor 550 cc High Profile Smooth Silicone Gel Implants (C cup bra size after), lateral and inferior capsulorrhaphies, and removal of the Alloderm.
