Upper Eyelid Blepharoplasty

This is a 79 year old female who has had difficulty seeing. She notes excess skin on her upper drooping eyelids. She was seen by her ophthalmologist who recommended a blepharoplasty evaluation. Eyelid surgery or a blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure to improve the appearance of the upper lids, lower lids or both. It can also be used to help with your vision if the upper eyelid is droopy. Sagging extra skin of the upper eyelid can disturb the contour of the upper eyelid, sometimes impairing vision. Fat deposits can cause the upper eyelid to appear puffy. Sometimes the levator muscle which controls the upper eyelid needs to be adjusted in addition to removal of the upper eyelid skin. Bags and wrinkles on the lower eyelid can be treated with a lower eyelid blepharoplasty.
