Renuva

An alternative filler to Juvederm and other hyaluronic acid fillers is Renuva.  Renuva is an in-office injectable filler that can be used to restore volume on the body (including face).  Once the volume is established, theoretically it is permanent. 

Renuva is cadaver fat, where the cells have been removed, and the collagen that holds the fat remains. Once it is injected, your body’s own fat cells migrate to the location of Renuva and start to reside/live on the collagen. Typically, patients need 2 sessions to achieve the volume that they desire, spaced months apart. The injection process is a little more painful than the hyaluronic acid fillers. 

Renuva carries the same risks as any product that comes from humans.  Typically, patients would come in for a consult to discuss the risks and benefits of all filler before choosing Renuva or any other filler.
