Seborrheic Keratosis
Seborrheic keratosis is a waxy ‘stuck -on’ plaque on the skin that is commonly confused with melanoma. It is not inside the skin, but on the outside. This is not cancer, but benign. Typically patients will have multiple on various body parts. The color is typically brown and/or black, elliptical in shape, slightly raised. They can be itchy or without sensations. The size can range from 5mm to 4cm or larger. Our office typically numbs the skin, then burns the seborrheic keratosis and then it can be peeled off.
